Everyone likes a cuppa, and here at Gourmosa we’re a big fan of spice, too. Spiced Black Tea is at the top of our list this winter. It’s the perfect hot drink with a punch to keep you going throughout the chilly nights!
- 7 cups water
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1-inch piece peeled fresh ginger
- 3 whole cloves
- 1 3-inch stick cinnamon
- 1 star anise (optional)
- 4 black tea bags
- 1 cup pomegranate juice
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- Optional: Lemon slices and cinnamon sticks
Combine water, sugar, ginger, cloves, cinnamon, and star anise in a large saucepan. Bring the mixture to the boil, stirring to dissolve the sugar. Boil the mixture for 1 minute. Take the mixture off the heat and strain. Return the mixture to a saucepan and add the tea bags. Steep for 10 minutes and then remove the tea bags. Stir in pomegranate juice and lemon juice. Return to heat and heat the mixture through before serving with lemon slices and cinnamon sticks.
