Make your own Chai spice mix

By May 23, 2016Uncategorized

The Chai spices mix has been recently popularized by Starbucks with their Chai Tea Lattes, but this spice combination has been around for thousands of years. Originally found in Masala Tea, or Indian spiced tea, it was known for its cleansing and mild ailment healing, and only became widely consumed as a beverage through the British. The base of Chai is usually cardamom and ginger, its what gives Chai a common thread through all the variations across the world. Then other spices are added on top of this base and those can vary widely between places or tastes.

Here is a simple chai spice mix that you can quickly add to your spices cabinet. You’ll find yourself reaching for it often and adding a twist to your morning tea!
